This is Keith Hernandez. It’s a poster of him I found in Manhattan this weekend. He’s an old school, legendary Met. And in 1986 he won a World Series ring when the Mets beat the Boston Redsox. His poster is also a brutal reminder of what happened to me last week.
Here it is. I’ll make it short and sweet. Last week the Mets played the Cardinals for the right to go to the World Series. On Thursday starting at 8pm, they played the final and deciding game in NY. It was a great game and I watched it at home, in HDTV, on my couch. Here-in lies the issue, and what makes this a story. A brutal story. At around 7pm Thursday night my phone rang…and I didn’t pick it up. The next day, Friday, an office mate walks up to me, asked why I didn’t answer my phone, and then tells me he called to give me a free ticket to the game. Let me repeat. A free ticket to the 7th game of the National League Championship Series. That’s it. The end. This story is now over.
Keith Hernandez you and your Sunday afternoon poster suck.
Blah, blah, blah. I know, I keep blogging about our bike rides. But I've got pictures. And they're good pictures. And we're having a great time. So if you care to check out the ride we did this weekend, click on the clicky title or picture and enjoy. We were in the Catskills somewhere between New Paltz and Woodstock (yeah, that woodstock).
This morning we woke up to a nice, Oregon-like rain. Over night, the tree outside our window slipped into fall. DJ Scratch loves our big window and appreciates the tree for all of the birds it serves as a rest stop. Today I think she just wanted to be in the picture.
After snapping this pic, Cas and I went for a run around the park. This weekend we hope to visit friends in DC and ride our bikes around that part of the country. We're just waiting to hear back from them!
Enjoy fall!
When I got to the client and present work, this is the view from the conference room.
For those of you who haven't been lucky enough to visit upstate NY in the fall, here's a tempting few pictures to show you what you've been missing. Enjoy. Michelle and I did.
Michelle does yoga and sometimes does it on our roof. On one of those special days I snuck up the ladder with my camera and started snapping away. Scratch saw me on the ladder and wished that, she too, could do some yoga (or napping) on the roof. Click the picture to see more photos.
