Man I'm so glad I'm in a blue state. I mean super blue. Bush never had a chance here. So you'd think that New Yorkers would be really progressive when it comes to the environment. I'm talking about recycling. Not throwing everything into the landfill. Not filling the earth up with trash. Reuse. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
There's one recycling trash can on my floor... a floor with maybe 50, 60 people on it. I called facilities to see if I could get a recycling box for my desk. They didn't know what the hell I was talking about. Come on New Yorkers. Don't just vote green... fucking live green!
It's the West Coast in me, living in this big 'ol East Coast city. It's a great city... but it needs some more West Coast in it. Re-fucking-cycle people... and don't forget to continue to vote green. The end for tonight.

April 25... the First Day
It was quite nice... and tiring. I think first days can take everything out of you, even if you don't do anything. It kind of feels like being run over by a truck or running a marathon or getting into a debate about the merits of national health care with Rush Limbaugh. Very tiring. Except, it's not a bad tiring, so I guess my analogies aren't exactly perfect.
Good bunch of people though. I'm excited about the possibilities.

On my walk today...
I saw art in the city...
...a church...
...and my office building. Work starts tomorrow.
I also found out that the apartment Michelle and I were siked on won't be ready for.......... 8 fucking weeks. Needless to say, I didn't include a photo of my reaction to that staggeringly sweet information. But I was none to pleased.

It rained last night. I ate chili at a vegetarian restaurant and watched masses scurry bye. It was quite nice. Drank some peppermint tea too.

Hello Brooklyn. Hello NYC. I made it.
This is the new Portland to NYC to.... blog for friends and family. I'll try to keep this baby updated with pictures and mental meanderings and all the juicy stuff for all you important folk (you know who you are).
Here's a picture of NYC that Michelle and I shot last weekend from the top of David's building. Beautiful day. (Unfortunately it's overcast and raining today.)
